Argyle Pink Diamonds Offered at Public Tender

More than 30 Argyle pink diamonds ranging from 0.13 carat to 2 carats are on offer at a global public tender by Australian diamond technology start-up, yourdiamonds.com.

The first-ever global public sealed bid tender opened on June 21 and will run until July 13, according to the yourdiamonds.com website.

Featured lots will include diamonds from the collection of esteemed connoisseur Di Fitzpatrick of Brisbane who acquired her Argyle pinks in the 1980s; a South Australian financial corporation; and eight private collectors.

All rare pink diamonds are “appearing on the secondary market for the very first time,” revealed yourdiamonds.com. The diamonds on offer bear the coveted fancy intense purplish-pink hue.

Rio Tinto’s Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia is virtually the world’s sole source of pink, red, violet and blue diamonds. Mining at Argyle concluded on November 3, 2020 after 37 years of operations.

Among the star lots is a 2-carat brilliant-cut fancy intense purplish-pink diamond of SI1 clarity grade, which is estimated to sell for US$1.16 million to US$1.93 million. Another highlight of the tender is a 1.48-carat fancy intense pink heart-shaped diamond, which is valued at US$465,000 to US$930,000.
