United Arab Emirates is the Exports Champion
United Arab Emirates (UAE) which ranked 4th previous year, became Turkey’s top export market in 2021. UAE which became the top export market for Turkey with a 259% increase, has been the country to where Turkey exported the highest amount of jewelry products with a total export amount of 2 billion 884 million US Dollars which includes exports via inward processing regime (IPR) as well.
While Iraq, which ranked the second biggest export market with total exports of 1 billion 443 million US Dollars, marked a 61% increase, USA which remained at 978 million USD worth of exports with a 19% increase, ranked 3rd. And United Kingdom which was the previous year’s top export market marked a 41% decrease in 2021 and remained the 4th biggest jewelry export market for Turkey with total exports of 889 million US Dollars.
A Record Increase of 430% in Jewelry Exports
Exports of unprocessed or semi-processed gold which is one of the four main product groups of the jewelry industry increased by 24% compared to previous year. And the total exports of this category reached 3 billion 200 million US Dollars.
United Arab Emirates became the leading export market in 2021 for exports of unprocessed or semi-processed gold with total exports of 1 billion 437 million US Dollars. UAE which reached number one position with a record increase of 430%, has been followed by United Kingdom which marked a 44% decrease. United Kingdom which ranked number with total exports of 821 million has been followed by Switzerland with a 48% increase and total exports of 275 million US Dollars. And Mauritania which marked a 100% increase ranked 4th with total exports of 263 million US Dollars.
A Rapid Surge in Germany
With total exports of 22 billion 3 million US Dollars, Germany ranked number one for exports of diamond-mounted gold jeweler’s items and parts which increased by 55% compared to previous year and reached 201 million US Dollars. Germany had ranked 4th previous year and became the leader in 2021 with a 155% increase and has been followed by United Arab Emirates which marked 22 billion USD worth of exports despite only a 1% increase
