Turkish Jewelry Export Report for year 2021 has been released!

According to data shared by Turkish Jewelry Exporters’ Association, total jewelry exports increased by 79% compared to previous year, reaching 7 billion 781 million US Dollars. And the total exports including total gold exports processed using inward processing regime (IPR), increased by 60% and reached 10 billion 303 billion USD.

As one of the top 10 gold jewelry producers in the world, Turkey has become one of the leading countries in the sector thanks to its exports capacity which has been increased during the last decade. Recognized by leading authorities, as a major competitor to Italy in gold and jewelry production, Turkey has been one of the countries least affected by COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to gold, silver and diamond exports, Turkey is also among the leading players of the sector with mounter exports as well and finished 2021 with record levels of export.

United Arab Emirates is the Exports Champion

United Arab Emirates (UAE) which ranked 4th previous year, became Turkey’s top export market in 2021. UAE which became the top export market for Turkey with a 259% increase, has been the country to where Turkey exported the highest amount of jewelry products with a total export amount of 2 billion 884 million US Dollars which includes exports via inward processing regime (IPR) as well.

While Iraq, which ranked the second biggest export market with total exports of 1 billion 443 million US Dollars, marked a 61% increase, USA which remained at 978 million USD worth of exports with a 19% increase, ranked 3rd. And United Kingdom which was the previous year’s top export market marked a 41% decrease in 2021 and remained the 4th biggest jewelry export market for Turkey with total exports of 889 million US Dollars.

A Record Increase of 430% in Jewelry Exports

Exports of unprocessed or semi-processed gold which is one of the four main product groups of the jewelry industry increased by 24% compared to previous year. And the total exports of this category reached 3 billion 200 million US Dollars.

United Arab Emirates became the leading export market in 2021 for exports of unprocessed or semi-processed gold with total exports of 1 billion 437 million US Dollars. UAE which reached number one position with a record increase of 430%, has been followed by United Kingdom which marked a 44% decrease. United Kingdom which ranked number with total exports of 821 million has been followed by Switzerland with a 48% increase and total exports of 275 million US Dollars. And Mauritania which marked a 100% increase ranked 4th with total exports of 263 million US Dollars.

A Rapid Surge in Germany

With total exports of 22 billion 3 million US Dollars, Germany ranked number one for exports of diamond-mounted gold jeweler’s items and parts which increased by 55% compared to previous year and reached 201 million US Dollars. Germany had ranked 4th previous year and became the leader in 2021 with a 155% increase and has been followed by United Arab Emirates which marked 22 billion USD worth of exports despite only a 1% increase

A Noteworthy Exports Increase in Middle East

United Arab Emirates which became the top export market for Turkey in 2021 has also been at the forefront for exports of gold jeweler’s items and parts. UAE which marked a 189% increase in this category which reached total exports of 6 billion 4 million US Dollars with a 90% increase, ranked number one with total exports of 1 billion 395 million US Dollars.

And Egypt which marked a 63% increase exports and reached 20 billion US Dollars, became the top silver export market for Turkey. Egypt has been followed by United States with a 77% increase while Israel which marked a 6% decrease ranked 3rd.

With Turkish Jewelry Export Report for year 2021, the export champions of Turkey has been announced as well. Top three exporters from among members of Jewelry Exporters’ Association have been:
